Little Kids Camps for kids aged 3-5 have something for everyone.
Trolls Hip Hop 7/1 | 9-12 noon
Welcome to our half-day day camp... that's right! That means we are only meeting for 3 hours this week. This is a great camp for your little if they're not used to being away from home during the summer!
Join Poppy & Branch as they journey through the Hip Hop spiral learning how to arm wave and groove to "Can't stop the feeling"! Your little will SWAG out of class ready to strut their stuff and show you their moves.
Frozen Ballet 7/15 - 7/19 | 9 - 12 noon
Anna, Elsa & Kristoff are all preparing for their latest journey in Frozen 2. But, for now, join us as we journey through the foundations of Ballet through the eyes of Frozen! We will listen to the story of Frozen, create wands (as well as other art and craft activities), and listen to the music that made Frozen famous.
Finding Nemo Ballet/Hip Hop 7/29 - 8/2 | 9 - 12 noon
Finding Nemo is one of our all-time favorites! We will be exploring our Ballet & Hip Hop foundations through the story of Nemo and his journey to Sydney, Australia. Listening to the music from this movie will help us to become familiar with the story. Don't worry, arts and crafts are also on the schedule; from Nemo hands to paper plate jellyfish - there is something for everyone!
Our Big Kid Camps for kids aged 5-11 explore more than just Dance!
Space Jam 2 Hip Hop 6/24 - 6/28 | 12:30 - 3:30 pm
We just found out that Space Jam 2 will not be released until 2020! While we were extremely excited for this movie and its camp; we will be taking it back ol' skool with the original Space Jam!
Join Michael Jordan and the Bugs Bunny crew as they battle against the aliens to determine Bugs Bunny's fate. We will be journeying through some amazing ol' skool tunes that will encourage learning Hip hop foundations, moves, grooves and choreography!
Step Up Intro 2 Dance 7/2 | 9:00 - 3:30 pm
Welcome to our one-day, day camp! This camp is perfect for students who are not sure what dance style they may like or want to do.
We will be learning basic foundations of Hip Hop, Jazz Funk & Break-Dance. Before you freak out... we will not be doing any spinning on our heads! Using the hard work and determination displayed by Tyler from Step Up, and the amazing music, we will be working on a fun mini combo incorporating everything learned that day.
Pop Camp | Pop Musical with MMPA & Pop Dance with Boom 7/3 | 9 - 3:30 pm
Parents, we know that you will love this one-day day camp for your children... because guess what? They will actually come away with some knowledge about the 80s and this particular dance style known as Pop. Think of music that is uptempto and catchy; Kylie Minogue, Dead or Alive, Bananarama & Michael Jackson... Now moves wise, think Roger Rabbit, Running Man, Moonwalk and more!
Camera! Action! Live Movie Making 101 7/8 - 7/12 | 9 - 12:00 noon
Camera!... and Action! During this week, we will be working together as a team to either write our own script or re-write a scene from one of our favorite movies (dependent on the participants in camp). Now for the fun part... this is where we put our script into action!
The second part of our week we will be acting out the script and working together to edit the scene or script chosen to create a mini movie. That's right - that means students will be acting in the mini movie! Students will be working through the different roles of Director, Editor, etc.
Leap Ballet 7/15 - 7/19 | 12:30 - 3:30 pm
Join Felicie and Victor this summer as they adventure to the Paris Opera to audition for the Nutcracker! Throughout our week, we will be learning Ballet foundations and techniques to help with our learning of a mini Nutcracker routine. We will be learning about the story of Leap and the Nutcracker through listening to the music and book, as well as enjoying some arts and crafts, like Tutu Marshmallow Pops.
Backstage 101 7/22 - 7/26 | 9:00 - 12 noon
There are so many classes and camps for students who LOVE to be onstage. But, what about those students who don't want to have the spotlight on them; but get excited to help behind the scenes?!
We have the perfect camp for you! This camp is a beginners guide to the roles backstage. From lighting and sound, to set creation & stage management... Students will get a once in a lifetime experience and overview of what it is like to work behind the scenes!
Wonder Emporium Around The World: Science & Art 7/29 - 8/2 | 12:30 - 3:30 pm
Students who love to observe, predict and measure results; mixed with those who love to collaborate, create and release their inner creativity - will absolutely love this camp! I mean honestly, what's not to love; it's the best of both worlds!
When we put our lab coat thinking hats on, we will be exploring experiments that have us building our own fizz inflator, volcano & the floating boat that holds marbles. When our art thinking hats are on, we will be creating tissue paper sensory art, painting with nature & stained glasses.
Toy Story 4 Hip Hop 8/5 - 8/9 | 9:00 - 12:00 noon
Toy Story 4 has a new friend, Forky, who joins our ol' classics, Woody & Buzz. While they embark on their road trip, our 'dance trip' begins, as we investigate and learn famous Hip Hop styles across America. We will discover that 'uprock' & 'break' were originally started in New York; while California brought 'locking', 'popping', 'boogaloo', & 'roboting' to the floor. Our journey will coincide as we learn about the movie through games, music from the movie, and crafts; from The 'real' Mr Potato Head to alien craft.
Puppet Show Script Writing 8/12 - 8/16 | 12:30 - 3:30 pm
Puppet Shows are making a comeback! The best part about puppet shows, is that you can still be creative and perform, without the spotlight.
Throughout our week, we will work together to create a mini puppet show; from concept & characters to writing a script & acting. We will even get to work on set creations! Even though we have plenty of puppets, we will even make our own sock puppets.
Billy Elliot Ballet 8/19 - 8/23 | 9:00 - 12:00 noon
In the most unlikable of circumstances, a young Boy, Billy Elliot, finds Ballet. His persistence and determination as he overcame struggles, made him into the most famously, beautiful Principal Ballet dancer. Join us as we embark on our own journey of self-discovery while learning Ballet techniques and foundations. We also will work on the famous pirouettes that Billy worked so hard on to get into our mini routine. Yes, this camp is for beginner ballet dancers!
The Wiz Theater Dance 8/26 - 8/30 | 12:30 - 3:30 pm
Everybody loves The Wizard of Oz for its originality; but when The Wiz surfaced, it was the most amazing thing since sliced bread! And... we all know that one aspect of Theater that is feared is dance. This camp is perfect for students who want to gain more confidence within their Musical Theater roles.
Throughout the week, we will learn more about Theater dance through The Wiz. We will learn about story telling through dance and incorporate the funky tunes of Motown through our re-tell of one dance off the Wiz.
