GET IN THE LOOP! The whole family is invited to the third annual “Loop the ‘Lupe,” an obstacle course 5K happening June 8 at Walt Hundley Playfield in West Seattle. The race features a one-kilometer “loop” around the park with SEVEN obstacles, including mud, water, walls, and more! For children younger than age 8, there’s a discounted “Youth Dash” available (parents, please help out!) featuring one lap around the park. Plus, there’s a no-obstacle 5K run/walk option, and a discounted “Senior Saunter,” a 100% flat, no-obstacle walk for racers age 65-plus.
“We’ve worked hard to put together an event that the entire family can truly enjoy,” says Race Director Brian Callanan. “We’ve had people from age 2—holding their parents’ hands—to age 95—using a walker—participate in this race. Everyone’s welcome!” Also, the race is professionally chip-timed and the distance is U.S. Track and Field Association certified, so if you’re a more experienced runner, you can make this event as competitive as you want! 
Loop the ‘Lupe also features food and drink for purchase, a beer garden sponsored by The Beer Junction, and live entertainment from the world-famous kids of the West Seattle School of Rock! Proceeds from the race benefit the social outreach work of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
