Opportunity for Attendees to “Dunk Their Heroes” in New Dunk Tank!
Drag Queen Bingo kicks off the two-day extravaganza on Friday, May 31, 2019. Hosted by the incomparable Aleksa Manila, Drag Queen Bingo will take place from 5-10 p.m. The event is all-ages. Tickets are $20 each and $5 cash upon arrival. Pre-purchase your $20 tickets online!
The free family-friendly event will once again be held in Burien Town Square Park and adjacent streets with a newly-expanded 21+ beer garden, vendor booths, live musical acts on the mainstage, a kids’ area sponsored by The Davis Group, raffles (Kellie Bassen’s quilt is always a huge hit!), and more! Organizers anticipate approximately 100 vendors at Burien Pride 2019.
Hold onto your hats for this next one! New this year: dunk your heroes in Burien Pride’s Inaugural Dunk Tank located in the center of it all! Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase the right to dunk their favorite local celebrities – and more! Want to dunk your boss? Your boyfriend? Girlfriend? Best friend? This is your chance! Special packages are available to dunk the people you want to most! Don’t have a good arm for throwing? Emerald City Softball players will be available at the Dunk Tank to make it even easier for all of you to get the job done!
“We could not be any more excited for our 3rd Annual Burien Pride weekend on May 31 and June 1, 2019,” said Sarah Toce, Discover Burien Executive Assistant and Burien Pride Committee Member. “This is a family-friendly event that has something in it for everyone. Personally, I can’t wait to see some of my friends in the dunk tank this year!”
“We’re really excited about our new layout for 2019, which includes a much larger beer garden area,” said Discover Burien Executive Director and Burien Pride Committee Member Debra George. “We are extremely pleased with the local businesses embracing us and even hosting their own Pride activities throughout the weekend. There’s literally something for everyone in Burien during Burien Pride weekend this year.”
On May 6, 2019, the City of Burien officially proclaimed June as Burien Pride Month. Burien residents gathered to celebrate and honor the LGBTQ+ community in a ceremony held at City Hall.
