Every Sunday, Macaroni Kid West Seattle will share some of the best things to do with your kids in West Seattle over the coming week. This week, we're highlighting fun events and activities in the Seattle area that will start to get you into the Holiday mood. 

Here are Macaroni Kid West Seattle's picks for the TEN best Thanksgiving week events and activities in the West Seattle area from November 22-28. Click on the links for all the details!


1. Wild Lanterns at Woodland Park Zoo- Paid

Explore the zoo like never before with a brand-new lantern festival unlike any in the Northwest! WildLanterns presented by BECU offers a larger-than-life, immersive experience that will “wow” anyone, no matter their age!

2. Washington State Parks Free Admission Day- Free

Washington State Parks, Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) will offer free entrance to state lands on Friday, Nov. 26. Visitors to Washington state lands will not need a Discover Pass to park. Discover Pass free days apply to all visitor parking on DNR and WDFW lands and in day-use areas at Washington state parks.

3. Seattle Center Winterfest- Free

Throughout the five weeks of Winterfest, those in search of uplifting seasonal spirit or delightful diversion will find performances, our Winter Train & Village, ice sculpting and our annual campus lighting display.

4. Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship™ Festival- Paid (Ship), Free (On-Shore)

Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship™ Festival is a ship-to-shore holiday celebration that has been a Northwest tradition since 1949. The Spirit of Seattle™, the Official Christmas Ship™, is decorated with hundreds of shimmery white lights and sails to different Puget Sound waterfront communities – around 40 in all. Choirs on board the Christmas Ship™ perform to guests aboard, to follow boats, and to communities gathered on shore.

5. KidsQuest Children's Museum Gingerbread Workshops- Paid

Join us for our classic in-person Gingerbread Workshops event! Fill your candy box in our magical Candy Shoppe, then stay and create your very own Gingerbread house masterpiece! KidsQuest cleans up the mess, and you go home with a marvelous gingerbread creation to enjoy throughout the season! Each ticket includes one gingerbread house, a candy box, admission for up to six people*, and access to our Candy Shoppe!

6. Christmas in Color- Paid

Drive through millions of lights perfectly synchronized to holiday music you’ll hear right through your radio. Drive by giant candy canes, snowmen, arched pathways and more. Take your time enjoying this lighting extravaganza - we won’t judge you if you join the kids with your face pressed against the window!

7. ZooLights at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium- Paid

Magical lights and a classic holiday tradition - presented by BECU. Step back into the Zoolights tradition you know and love: your Zoo, transformed into a colorful winter wonderland with over 800,000 lights.

8. Snowflake Lane- Free

Experience the wonder of falling snow, dazzling lights, festive music, toy drummers, and dancers in this complimentary nightly parade of holiday floats. Celebrating 17 years of Snowflake Lane presented by The Bellevue Collection.

9. 26th Annual Magic in the Market- Free

Your local Market has you covered this year with seasonal activities, gift shopping, live busker music, and more to get you in the holiday spirit! Pike Place Market is kicking off the holiday season on Saturday, November 27 with Magic in the Market!

10. Miracle on 152nd Street- Free

Miracle on 152nd Street takes place on Small Business Saturday in Downtown & Olde Burien. As if our excellent stores, boutiques, bakeries and shoppes weren’t enough to entice you we’ve got fun planned for the whole day. Enjoy a free movie, photos with Santa, and bingo!
