Our friends at Seattle Saracens are sharing a great opportunity for our Community to show the love to our Restaurant and Front line workers through Fine Dine Front Lines.

Here's a bit about the fundraiser Fine Dine Front Lines and the link to our fantastic Rugby Community:

At the start of the current situation with Covid-19, the club quickly became aware of the need to try and support the businesses and people that have supported our club, our community outreach programs and the rugby community in general.

We had hoped to set something up to raise funds for the restaurants to provide food for those who are on the front lines in the medical industry. While researching we discovered that friend of Seattle Rugby, Ryan Dwyer, was already spearheading an effort to help front line workers even before the pandemic.

What started as an effort to thank a medical community that saw his family through a very tough journey, soon evolved into a cause that would support struggling restaurants survive in the current environment while also helping those on the front lines working tirelessly to keep us healthy.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, the club decided we would put our resources behind helping this existing cause which exactly mirrored our goals. By supporting Ryan’s journey and attempting to bring the rugby community behind this program, we will hopefully make a very meaningful contribution to both the local restaurants that deserve a boost and the front line workers that are sacrificing so much at this moment in time.

Please take a minute to read more about Ryan’s story and the non-profit program, Fine Dine Front Lines

If you are able to donate, share his message - as a club or an individual, or if you are interested in volunteering by delivering food to the front-line workers, or can think of another way you would like to be part of this effort, please do. Any support is welcome.

If you donate, mention you are affiliated with rugby to show that ‘Rugby Cares’ and we are coming together as a community to support. Please use #finedinedrontlines @finedinefrontlines also when tagging if you can.

A little background on this Guide.....

I started (and continue to be) a Social Worker in my "other work gig."  I started publishing with Macaroni Kid when I had taken time off of "out of the house work" to be with my little macaroni babies.  It was, and continues to be one of my methods of serving families by providing an e-newsletter and website full of family fun opportunities in our local community and beyond.  I found Macaroni Kid National to be rooted in the same values I hold: Family + Fun + Community Support and Doing what I call "the Good."   If you will scroll down you'll see that Macaroni Kid publishers throughout the USA and Canada celebrate MKAOK Day in September every year. (pretty great eh?)  I wanted to go even further in our community.  I know there are so many ways and organizations that make the world and our Community a better place.  So I invite you to make Kindness a family Value and use this as YOUR GUIDE to Do The Good wherever you go!

Have an opportunity for "doing the good?"  Just email marye@macaronikid.com to let me know and I'll add it to this Guide!
